Fields
Field | Description |

Calculation Formula | Formula used for calculating student results, operating on assessment areas within the current subject assessment. For example, the German A subject assessment used in the examples includes three areas that are assessed:

Result Type | Formatting of the calculated result. |
Weighting Factor | Weighting factor of the current assessment area, when used in calculations by other assessment areas for the subject.

Mark Out Of | Calculated result can be converted to a Mark Out Of value. |
Round to Decimal Places | Type the number of decimal places to round the result to. Synergetic rounds up or down to the nearest value, based on the number of decimal places specified.

Decimal Places are Fixed | When a value is specified in the Round to Decimal Places field, you can fix the format of the values that are displayed on the student reports.

Truncate instead of Round | You can truncate the values that are displayed on the student reports. When:
|
Areas | Areas of assessment that can be used in the Calculation Formula. Note: The current assessment area, used to define the calculated result, is not displayed in the Areas field. This is to avoid recursive calculations, where the result forms part of its own input. |
Functions | A range of mathematical functions are supplied with Synergetic. See Functions used when calculating student results in the Synergetic Assessments and reports manual. |
