End Result

The desired value(s) have been updated in all selected records, saving time by not having to update each record individually.

Method

Changing multiple records to the same value with Bulk Set Active Field Value program:

In this example, the task is to change the Student Status from New to Normal.

  1. Select student records to be updated. Search criteria can be based on Status in the Search Screen.
  2. Save to a Tag List in order to be able to access the same students if changes need to be reverted in the future.
  3. Navigate to the School Tab.
  4. In the Status Section of the School Tab, change the status from "New" to "NOR" (Normal). You may get a prompt advising that an equivalent change to the status will need to be made to the 2017 record for the student.
  5. Navigate to the "Action" menu option and select Bulk Set Active Field Value. Respond 'Yes". If the message relating to changes required for the 2017 Year, respond OK. This could occur for each student.
  6. After all records have been updated, you will be presented with a prompt to Accept, or Rollback the changes. If a response in not provided within 10 seconds, the changes will be automatically applied.

Considerations

The Bulk Set Active Value will not work on Tabs that contain a tabular grid. It only works on text-based fields, or fields with drop down lists.

There is a very limited amount of time to accept and apply the changes before a rollback occurs. This time limit is 10 seconds
