Summary
Bank Identification Number (BINs - The first 6 digits of credit/debit account number) range for MasterCard will be increased to include a new series beginning with '2' as well as MasterCard's standard '5'. These new 2 series cards will start to be issued in 2017 and will mean that merchants (in Synergetic's case, schools using Online Payments) will need to have the ability to accept payments from series 2 card numbers in order to receive payments from users that have received new cards with the new BINs.
Affects
This change will affect schools using Online Payments with NAB Transact to store cards and process credit card payments.
Resolution
The functionality to process these cards through the Community Portal has been added into v67.25 and will require an upgrade if you are not on this or a later version of Synergetic.
Upgrades are performed by our Systems team and will be booked according to their lead times.
