Previous Synergetic Versions Displayed in Add/Remove Programs

Modified on Thu, 5 Mar at 4:04 AM

Historically, Synergetic upgrades were deployed manually using individual executable installers. These manual installations left version information visible in the Windows registry, which appears in Add/Remove Programs.

Current Deployment Method: Synergetic upgrades are now exclusively deployed using the Self Deployment Tool (SDT). This tool installs updates silently and does not leave version details in the registry. As a result, no new entries appear in Add/Remove Programs following SDT deployments.

Why You Might Still See Old Versions: If Synergetic was previously installed manually, those legacy entries may still appear in Add/Remove Programs. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the functionality or performance of Synergetic.

Optional Cleanup: If users wish to remove these outdated entries, they can manually delete the corresponding registry keys under the following registry locations:

  • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Important: Always back up the registry before making changes.
