TABLE OF CONTENTS

Sickbay kiosk solution is similar to a peripatetic kiosk however when leaving sickbay the student can select between two check-out reasons to either return to class or leave school.

This kiosk would be supervised and operated by a nurse or other staff member who assists the student.

To enable the student Peripatetic functionality, the kiosks role must have type: “Sickbay”
(More information on configuring kiosk roles
here)

Example Sickbay Role

If more than 1 check-in reason is selected for a sickbay kiosk, the kiosk will use the first absent code it receives to check students into sickbay.
If more than 2 check-out reasons are selected for a sickbay kiosk, the kiosk will use the first two absent codes it receives to check students out of sickbay.

Student check-in

The student will either scan the barcode on their student card to identify themselves or enter their student ID.

Since a sickbay kiosk has 1 check-in reason associated with its role, the student is automatically checked in to the class with an absence event generated.

If a printer is configured, then a slip will be printed

The student/nurse will select between two reasons - check out of sickbay to return to class or leave school (the reasons are configurable in the kiosks role).

Here we have modified the check-out reasons name in the luAbsenceEventsTerminalReasonDefinition mapping table to enhance the user experience

And the event will be recorded in Synergetic's absence events maintenance table.
