Reception Kiosk

To enable the student sign-in/out functionality, the kiosks role must have type: “Reception”

The supervision of an attendance officer is required as the kiosk is not a stand-alone device.

Student Sign-In

When a student arrives late to school, the attendance officer will guide the student to the kiosk and observe the student signing into school.

The late student will either scan the barcode on their student card to identify themselves.

In the scenario where a student does not have their student card with them - they can select “I can’t use my card”, enter their student ID (synergetic ID), and click continue to lookup the student and proceed to the next stage

The late student will select a reason for arriving late.
If the list is longer than the screen, the student can scroll through the reasons.

In the selection view, the student's details are displayed so the attendance officer can validate the student identity

Upon confirmation, the student's sign-in event will be recorded in Synergetic's absence events maintenance table.

If a printer is configured, the student will also receive a late slip and then will proceed to class

Student Sign-Out

When a student departs early from school, the attendance officer will first validate if the student is authorised to leave and then guide the student to the kiosk and observe the student signing out of school.

The student will either scan the barcode on their student card or manually enter their student ID to identify themselves.

The student will select a reason for departing school early.

In the selection view, the student's details are displayed so the attendance officer can validate the student identity

The kiosk infers whether a student is signing into or out of school-based on attendance and absence activities. If the kiosk has incorrectly inferred a sign-out event, the student can click the sign-in button in the top left to navigate to the sign-in reasons.

Upon confirmation, the student's sign-out event will be recorded in Synergetic's absence events maintenance table.

If a printer is configured, the kiosk will print a slip
