Students can identify themselves using the kiosk through various mechanisms: scanning their student card and manual student lookup.
Scanning Student Cards
When the student approaches the kiosk to scan their student card, they must ensure they hold the card approximately 10-15cm from the iPad front camera and the barcode is in view.
The kiosk can scan various barcode formats with the Synergetic ID encoded as a barcode.
Here is a list of supported barcode formats.
To generate student cards, Synergetic has provided an out of the box report - “Student ID Cards (Credit Card size 2X5)“. Once the report is generated, it is recommended to scale the report 125%, making the student cards more efficient to scan.
Manual Student Lookup
If a student has forgotten, lost or has not been issued a student card, they can select the “I can’t use my card“ button and manually enter their student details into the kiosk to identify themselves
The student can input their:
Student ID
”Synergetic ID”Student Email
”Email” or “Home Email”Full name
First name:
”Given 1”, “Given 2”, “Prefered Name”Last name”
“surname”
Identifying students with the same name.
In the rare event that many students have the same name or the search results return multiple students, the student will progress to the DoB selector to discriminate between themselves.
