Cycle Maintenance - General tab

Use the General tab to maintain details about academic and co-curricular cycles including:

Opening the General tab

To open the General tab:

Select Module > Students > File/Semester Maintenance.
Tip: You can also access the current student functions by clicking .

The Student File/Semester Term Maintenance window is displayed.
Click .
The Cycle Maintenance - General tab window is displayed.

Cycle Maintenance - General tab key fields

Field	Description
Description	Description of the cycle.
Season Type	Type of season for the selected semester, term, or reporting period. You can select either: Date for seasons based on a date range. Numbered for seasons based on numbers such as Semester 1. Note: You can only have one numbered season active at any stage, but any number of active date-based seasons.
Season Start Date	Date the season starts.
Season End Date	Date the season ends.
Actual Term	Actual term. Note: The actual term may not match the reporting period, which may be known as the term, report number, half-term or semester, depending on your organisation.
Meaning	Displays any SynergyMeaning information attached to the record. See SynergyMeanings in the System maintenance manual.
Season Active	Whether the season is active.
