Before completing this process, you need to determine the user credentials to be used for the installation. See Determining Crystal Report user credentials
To install the Syn Service Suite for Crystal reports:
- Open Synergetic.
- Select Help > About from the Main menu.
The About Synergetic window is displayed. - Check the installed version of Synergetic using the Build number field.
- Navigate to the helios2/toolbox/ folder.
- Open the folder corresponding to the build version.
- Open the folder corresponding to the build number.
- Copy the SynServiceSuite zip folder to your downloads folder.
- Extract the contents of the zip folder.
- Run the SynServiceSuite installation file.
The User Account Control window is displayed. - Click .
The Setup - Synergetic Service Suite - Select Destination Location window is displayed. - Ensure the installation location is correct.
Note: The default installation location is C:\SynergeticServices. - Click .
The Setup - Synergetic Service Suite - Ready to Install window is displayed. - Click .
The Setup - Synergetic Service Suite - Installing window is displayed.
The Update SynServiceSuite Config File window is displayed. - Double-click the DatabaseName field.
The Database Selection Wizard window is displayed. - Type your database username into the Username field.
- Type your database password into the Password field.
- Click .
The Select the Database to Use grid area is updated. - Click next to the database corresponding to the build version. In this case, Synergetic_AUVIC_CDA_V70.
The Update SynServiceSuite Config File window is redisplayed. - Scroll down to the Crystal report fields.
- Ensure:
• SynServiceCrystalWorkFolder field is populated with C:\temp\work.
• SynServiceCrystalReportsPath field is populated with the reports folder file path. For example, C:\Synergetic\v70\Reports.
• SynServiceCrystalReportUserName field is populated with the Crystal reports user name recorded previously. See Determining Crystal report user credentials.
• SynServiceCrystalReportPassword field is populated with the Crystal reports password recorded previously. See Determining Crystal report user credentials.
• SynServiceCrystalEnabledFlag field is populated with 1.
Note: Default values are used for the remaining fields. - Click .
