Configuring VSN/VSR services

Victorian organisations are required to implement Victorian Student Number (VSN) for their students. This functionality impacts multiple areas of the Synergetic system including:

configuration keys
Synergetic service
database tables, stored procedures and triggers.

Once VSN is configured for your organisation, you can maintain VSNs for students using the Government Student Number field on the:

Create new student window . See Creating new students.
Codes tab of Current Student Maintenance. See Current Student Maintenance - Codes tab.

Important: You must complete the steps in this section with a member of the Synergetic Systems Team. See Contact Synergetic Management Systems.

How to:

Install the Syn Service Suite for VSN. See Installing the Syn Service Suite for VSN.
Configure VSN configuration settings. See Configuring VSN configuration settings.
Start the Synergetic Service. See Starting the Synergetic Service (VSN).
