            Summary

            We are pleased to announce that Version 71.01 of the Synergetic suite of products is available now.

            The major changes in this release contains:

             Online Leave Applications Disclaimer
            • Configuration is critical

              - Configuration affects who can process leave applications and view attachments. You must ensure that you've configured job position reporting correctly and selected both a Default Job Position for Leave Approvals (we recommend a payroll admin or HR job position) and a Job Position for Confidential Leave Approvals (we recommend an HR job position).

            • Internal leave application processes

              - Online leave applications are very flexible, so it is essential that your staff members are aligned about how leave is taken and approved. More specifically, since leave approval is based on job positions, multiple staff members will be notified and have the ability to approve leave application requests, so please ensure there is a process in place to determine who is appointed to approve leave application requests.

            • Leave transactions must be added manually during each pay run

              - Payroll admins can use the Payroll Employee Leave Applications Crystal Report to identify information that must be added on the Detail tab of Current Pay Maintenance.

            • Important notes about the Payroll Employee Leave Applications Crystal Report

              - the report includes late approved leave applications (i.e. leave applications that were approved past the last payrun period but with start and end dates in the past)
              - the report will always display the total amount of units (hours/days/weeks) for the period of the leave application (i.e. it does not divide the units into chunks for the pay period, so payroll admins need to check the compare transactions between staff members)
              - leave balances are based on the last pay run period
              - leave balances cannot be projected if the calculation method is set to Hours worked rather than FTE
              - no rules exist about when a user can take long service leave, so please ensure you take precautionary action before approving.

            In addition to these changes, this release contains compliance work, improvements and bug fixes.
