Issue when renaming users

Following a user rename where network login is updated in Synergetic and also in Active Directory, there have been permissions issues identified when accessing Synergetic when attempting to log in with the new username.

Solution

Please request the affected user to log off and back into their local machine:

If this does not work please restart the SQL server which clears the local server cache.

History

Historically we have advised clients that “normally the system will take 2-3 days to reflect the name change” which, while usually correct, does specifically address the issue at hand which self resolves after the above has occurred.

An alternative proposal by some is to manually add the user in SQL server- do NOT do this!
