Self Deployment Tool – Requirements 

The Self Deployment Tool (SDT) has been created to enable users to download and install the latest version of Synergetic.

**UPDATE** There is now a SDT system (.msi) installer. Please run this and remove any legacy SDT directory.

We're releasing builds of Synergetic more frequently to deliver value to clients, and we need to ensure you are equipped to benefit from this.
Using the SDT means that you no longer need to schedule upgrades with Support during our business hours and can upgrade when it suits your business needs.
User documentation can be found on our wiki .
Our team will also use this tool to conduct any product upgrades on your behalf.

We are now comfortable for clients to upgrade TEST and PRODUCTION environments where we have conducted a handover session with you!

However if you would like us to conduct your upgrade, various booking options are available and can be made by following this link.
Please note that, where we are requested to do this for you, we can only offer upgrades on a quarterly basis.

At the very minimum we require the following to configure SDT (if not already)

  • Active Directory Group named "Synergetic Upgrades"
    • The Synergetic user (usually ‘synadmin’, ‘synergetic’ or ‘cda’ but may be something else) added to this group, and add anyone else to this group who may be involved in Synergetic updates in the future.

  • Network access to
    • Each Synergetic applications server (Synweb, Synmain, DB server, etc.) 
    • A backup file share 
    • A working directory file share 

Backup and working directory locations will be local by default.
Please specify if otherwise as the 'Synergetic Upgrades' group will need full control for file and directory permissions to these locations.

How will I benefit from SDT? 

  • Upgrade to the latest version to take advantage of the newest features and bug fixes 
  • You can schedule test and production upgrades that suits your business needs 
  • SDT allows consistency of the upgrade process and reduces human error
