Online configuration - Side Menu sub-tab

Use the Side Menu tab to customise side menu configuration settings.

Opening the Side Menu tab

To open the Side Menu sub-tab:

Launch the Community Portal in an internet browser.
Log in as a portal administrator.

Tip: Admin user logins are separated by commas between the tags in the XML configuration file. See Editing the SynCommPortal.xml configuration file.

Tip: You can also access the Admin Panel if you have been assigned the CommunityPortalAdminPanel security resource in Group/User Security Maintenance. See Group Security Maintenance - Groups View in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.
Click Configuration in the Admin Panel.

The Main Menu Configuration Tool window is displayed.
Click the Side Menu sub-tab.
The Side Menu sub-tab is displayed.

Online Configuration - Side Menu tab key fields and buttons
Fields

Field	Description
Show on Intro Page	Display the side menu on the Intro page.
Left hand side	Display the side menu on the left side of the page.
Page	Select a page to display its member type selections.

Community types fields

Note: The number of fields displayed depends on the Page field selection.

Field	Description
Parent Guardian	Display Parents and Guardians in the side menu of the selected page.
Current Students	Display Current students in the side menu of the selected page.
Family	Display Family in the side menu of the selected page.
Future Students	Display Future students in the side menu of the selected page.
Past Students	Display Past students in the side menu of the selected page.

Year Level fields

Field	Description
Year level filtering enabled for page	Select to enable year level filtering for the page selected in the Page field.
Senior Kindergarten to Year 12	Select which year levels can view the page when year level filtering is enabled.

Buttons

Button	Description
	Save changes to the side menu options.
	Apply changes to the member types for the selected page.
