Description
The NameExternal configuration setting defines how student names are displayed throughout the Community Portal. The configuration setting uses the replaceable form fields. If you want to use regular text as well, including spaces, it must be added in single quotes and joined with a + sign. For example:
- to list the student's given name after their surname as in Adamski, Angelo, the value would be Surname +', '+Given1
- to list the student's name as Name: Angelo Adamski the value would be 'Name: '+ Given1 ' ' Surname.

Default value
The default value is blank. Depending on your installation settings, the default name display may be based on the Community:Mailfmt configuration setting.
Setting a different value
Type the new name format into the Value field of the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Configuration File Maintenance window.
