Description

The Compression:Enabled configuration setting determines whether SynWeb uses compressed viewstates to reduce bandwidth consumption.

Viewstates store information about how a specific user views the page. The viewstate files can become quite large, affecting download speed and increasing the amount of bandwidth required. Compression can reduce the size of these files, but uses more processing power. We recommend you enable viewstate compression.

Default value

The default value is True. That is, SynWeb uses viewstate compression.

Setting a different value

Warning: Do not change this setting without specific instruction from Synergetic Support.

Clear the Value on the Configuration File Maintenance window to set it to False. See Configuration File Maintenance window in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.
