Description
The luAbsenceEventType lookup table is used mostly to configure the way the Create Absence Event window works.
Tip: You can assign a default absence type code to an absence event type (mode) rather than it being left unexplained. See DefaultAbsenceTypeCode below.
The Create Absence Event window is used to add and modify absence events. See Individual student absence events in the Attendance and absence events manual.
You can:
- change the descriptions of the modes (Absence Event Types) as they appear on the Create Absence Event window
- change the modes that are available to use
- change the order that the modes are displayed in
- inactivate certain modes from use at your organisation
- require additional information to be included in the absence event, such as absence types, reasons and comments
- change the prefix displayed on the Attendance window for each pre-existing absence event that is relevant when marking the class
- include the Approved field on the Create Absence Event window or not
- speed up data entry by not including the absence events history and the student's timetable when displaying the student's details on the window
- speed up data entry by automatically submitting the absence event once the user has selected the student
- change the priority of absence events to affect the way that absence events supersede others
- include a report code so that you can print reports, such as late dockets
- include scanner prefixes when configuring students signing in or out automatically
- include hostnames to restrict or allow some modes based on the PC names used on your organisation's computer network.
