Updating MS Query queries for the single database structure

To update an MS Query for the single database structure:

  1. Open Microsoft Excel.
  2. Create an MS Query for either:

    • SynergyOne
    • SynergyOneFinance
    • SynergyExtraFinance.

    See Extracting data using the Microsoft Query wizard.

  3. Click the Data tab.
  4. Click Connections.
    The Workbook Connections window is displayed.
  5. Select the query.
  6. Click .
    The Connection Properties window is displayed.
  7. Click the Definition tab.
    The Definition tab is displayed.


  8. Update:

    • DSN to Synergetic
    • DATABASE to the single database name. For example, Synergetic_AUVIC_CDA_TST.


  9. Click .
    The SQL Server Login window is displayed.
  10. Type your username into the Login ID field.
  11. Type your password into the Password field.
  12. Click .
    The following error is displayed.
  13. Click .
  14. Repeat steps 5 through 7.
  15. Update the database in the Command text field.

    Note: You need to replace the dbo to extrafinance if you are updating a SynergeticExtraFinance MS Query query.
  16. Click .
  17. Repeat steps 2 through 16 to update additional MS Query queries.
  18. Click Save.
