How the Student Attendance Kiosk works
- Easily register sign-in and sign-out attendance events, and co-curricula movements, via iPad at key locations around your campus
- Students independently sign in and out by scanning their student ID, or searching their names in the system
- Print student and visitor sign in / sign out slips by connecting the Synergetic Attendance Kiosk to compatible printers
- Automatically record late arrival and early departure absence events – and resolve unexplained absences in Synergetic consistent with your school’s attendance configuration, via API integration
- Supervise student movements by capturing attendance at co-curricular activities and unscheduled lessons
- Independently set up as many Attendance Kiosk iPads as you like with Synergetic version 70.15 or higher via self-service without needing any help from us

Usability and accessibility recommendations when mounting an attendance kiosk device
Avoid strong reflections on the device screen, as this will affect how quickly and easily a barcode can be scanned.
Ensure the elevation and angle of the device allows for easy access to users of varying height:
As a starting point, avoid having the top of the device higher than 120cm from the ground.
If in a low position, try slightly tilting the device upwards, while avoiding strong reflections from overhead lighting.
If it is an option to do so, consider having two kiosks at main entrances; one placed lower, and the other higher.
Do not place any obstacles in front of kiosk devices which would force users to reach further than necessary, or even block access by wheelchair.
Consider if the kiosk can easily be approached from the side, or front only. Side-approach (or parallel-approach) allows wheelchair users to get closer, thus reach higher more comfortably.
Ensure there’s sufficient space in front of the kiosk, where multiple people can wait without encroaching on each other’s privacy, and for wheelchairs to turn around. Especially where only front-approach is possible.
