Description
The MailFmt setting is used to determine the bias to use when generating combined mail names for community members who are a couple:
- P = Always generate Mail Name Joint based on the primary person
- A = Generate Mail Name Joint based on the abbreviation of Given 1 and Given 2
- (blank) = Generate Mail Name Joint based on the actual person.
This setting is decided during the implementation of Synergetic at your organisation.
Default value
The default value is blank, which generates Mail Name Joint based on the actual person.
In the example, using Mr John Smith and Mrs Mary Smith where John is the primary.

Setting a different value
Update the Value field to P on the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Maintaining configuration files.
Again, using Mr John Smith and Mrs Mary Smith where John is the primary.
