Updating string values using the memo button

When the type of value used for a configuration setting is a string (STR), there are some circumstances where the string:

• is too long to display in the Value field
• includes formatting characters, such as carriage return/line feed characters.

To edit the string value:

1. Open the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Configuration File Maintenance window.
   The Configuration File Maintenance window is displayed.
2. Locate the configuration setting with the string (that is, with a Type of STR).
   
3. Click .
   The Edit Config Value window is displayed.
   
   Tip: You can use the  button to copy the comment to the clipboard for later use.
   
4. You can:
   • add new text or modify existing text
   • add Synergetic fields in { } brackets
   • press the Enter key to add carriage return/line feeds.
5. Click .
   The window is closed and the comment is saved.
