Synergetic can be configured to work with many SMS vendors, as most will be able to support email-to-SMS (e2s) which is used for the generation of emails from within the Synergetic interface.
We have elected to partner with Sinch MessageMedia and some functionality will only be available when using their service, such as 2-way SMS.
Synergetic administrators can access the MessageMedia interface at https://hub.messagemedia.com/
A comprehensive guide for MessageMedia administrators on the use and configuration of the hub can be found here.
Alpha Tags
There are current changes to the use of Alpha Tags
Australia | FAQs: Alphanumeric sender ID (formerly alpha tags) registration – Sinch MessageMedia
From 1 July 2026, all Alpha Tags that have not been registered will appear as unverified when sending messages. To ensure your communications remain trusted and clearly identifiable, it is important that Alpha Tags are registered ahead of this date.
We will manage the registration of Alpha Tags on your school’s behalf. However, to enable this, schools are required to set up an ACMA account using an authorised contact from your organisation.
We have already contacted all schools where we are aware an Alpha Tag is in use, providing guidance and support for this process.
If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance, please raise a support case, and our team will be happy to help.
Why Messages Are Marked as Spam
Missing or Incorrect Email Authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC)
Mobile carriers and MessageMedia’s Email‑to‑SMS systems check whether your sending domain is authenticated.
MessageMedia supports SPF checking, and issues can arise when a domain’s SPF records are not aligned.
Missing SPF/DKIM/DMARC is a major, well‑documented cause of spam classification.
If your domain isn’t properly verified, the message may be treated as suspicious before it ever becomes an SMS.
Fix
Ask your IT team to verify:
SPF includes your sending mail server or provider
DKIM is enabled
DMARC is configured
For your account to have MessageMedia’s SPF checks enabled, MessageMedia support must adjust this setting. Your MessageMedia admin user/s can request this to MessageMedia Support (support@messagemedia.com), or let us know and we can make this request on your behalf.
