Impersonate a user in the Community Portal / Portal Administrator Mode

Summary

The following steps allow you to see impersonate and see what a user would see if they were to be logged into Community Portal. This helps with troubleshooting and guiding community members around the Community Portal

End Result

You will be able to impersonate any user on the portal and see what they would see if they were logged in.

Method

Portal Administrator Mode.

To activate administration mode in Community portal follow the steps below.


1.Go to System > Group/User Security Maintenance

2. Select  the user or user group you wish to assign permission to 

3. Assign permission to SYS | CommunityPortalAdminPanel

4. Close any existing community portal sessions by making sure no browsers are open on your computer and restart IIS. Once logged in you should see the administration bar across the top of the page.

 

Considerations

Consider who has permission to be an administrator as confidential information may become accessible.
